A NOTE FROM THE MANAGER

Warren Poplin

Wekiwa is a full service state park with something for everyone, hike along a portion of more than 13 miles of trails and then cool off in the refreshing 72 degree spring. The Wekiva River is one of two recognized National Wild & Scenic Rivers in Florida. Come early to catch a glimpse of some of the exciting wildlife around the park including deer, turkey, fox squirrels, shorebirds and even Florida Black Bear. Please keep in mind that bears and other wildlife can become a nuisance if their behavior is interrupted by humans. Be sure to enjoy the wildlife from a safe distance. Take a break and unwind from your busy life in this beautiful state park. We recommend arriving early on weekends and holidays to beat the crowds. We do close the park when we reach our maximum carrying capacity.
