Testimonials for Torreya State Park
- "Amazing Hike! 12 person young adult group took the "moderate" trail and had a blast! Steep grades in each direction along with great views of the Apalachicola River through the trees. The "challenge" hike would put any pro to the test."

James Jackson - Milton, FL - It is truly a great experience in the "mountains of Florida". I cannot wait to experience the hiking in the fall color changes.
Phil Cunningham - Panama City, Florida - Beautiful Park! You don't even feel like you are in florida anymore. Park staff was very friendly. This park is a must see!
Katie - Panama City, Florida - What a rare treat! It was a real escape from flat Florida! The Torreya Loop Hike was a real workout, but worth every step. The trails are beautiful and lush! Can't wait to return and hike the Torreya Challenge!
Belinda DeWitt - Jacksonville, FL - Great terrain. Good hiking trails with varied scenery. Check out the Torreya Challenge trail for a good hike. Watch out for copperheads near the river!
Colin Dooley - Tallahassee, FL - We are avid hikers and this park has one of the best trail systems in the state. The loop that follows the river has very diverse terrain and is a wonderful trail for kids.
JEFF MASSO - PANAMA CITY, fl - Excellent hike with amazing scenery. I'm an experienced hiker and the Torreya Challenge trail (off the Torreya loop) offers some the most challenging hiking in the state - plus, it's an incredible work out. The terrain is superb and you forget that you're in Florida. Spring is an awesome time to go out and experience the loop. I come back again and again.
Michael Adamchak - Tallahassee, Florida - We enjoyed touring the Gregory House with Anna who shows great interest in the history of the home and has a wonderful sense of humor. In fact, all the staff in this park are wonderfuly nice. If everyone in the world were like these people, no one would want to make war. Well, we also loved the trails, the real reason we came to Torreya. We did the full system - Weeping Ridge, the Torreya Trail and the Challenge. Just wonderful! You can hear the bird calls echoing all around the hills. Bridges cross pretty little streams. Deer bound away just as soon as you glimps them, but you have the thrill of seeing them. All sorts of mushrooms sprouted throughout the woods and standing over a ravine, peering down the steep slopes, is a rare experience here in Florida! What a panarama! Very peaceful, Torreya, out in the middle of lovely undeveloped countryside. Bring plenty of water with you on the long hikes and don't forget bandaids in case of blisters.
