SIRENS OF THE DEEP MERMAID CAMP
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park
Please call the park for available dates.
Dear Mermaid in Training...
In our 'Sirens of the Deep Mermaid Camp', you will experience what it is like to be an underwater performer at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. Each day, there will be underwater ballet training sessions and on the last day of camp, you will perform for a private audience of family and friends. During your underwater training sessions, you will learn the basic ballet moves that the Mermaids of Weeki Wachee learn every day. These ballet moves are the ones our Mermaids must learn before they perform shows. In addition, while getting a behind the scenes look at what it takes to put on an underwater show, you will be exposed to the daily responsibilities of being a mermaid. Your trainers will enhance your makeup and will fit you in a mermaid tail for posing. Lunch will be provided daily. Please inform the trainers of any food allergies you may have. Each participant will receive two daily admission tickets to the park which are good for the scheduled weekend of your camp. This will allow your family to enjoy the amenities of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. At Sunday's lunch, you will be presented with a 'Sirens of the Deep' Mermaid Camp certificate of completion, along with a year's membership card to the Friends of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park. Please note that you will not be instructed to breath from our air hoses. This would require SCUBA certification, first aid, CPR and several months of training. You will be swimming in a depth of approximately 15 feet of water while in training sessions. There will be a trained underwater performer with you at all times when you are in the water! Camp sessions are filled on a first come, first serve basis. As you fill out the application, please list the session dates by preference. There is a maximum of six participants for each camp. NO EXCEPTIONS!!. Upon receipt of your application with payment, you will be informed of your camp date. AGE: 30 years of age and up Sincerely, Robyn Anderson (Assistant Park Manager)Barbara Wynns (Former Performing Mermaid & FOWWSSP Camp Chairman)
