2011 Outdoor Challenge for Children
Summer is here and that means it's time to get out into your favorite state park! From July 1 to September 30 participate in the Kids Outdoor Challenge. Print the rules and checklist of activities, bring a book and camera to a state park and take the challenge. To complete the challenge finish at least five activities on the list, including reading a book in a state park and send a photo of each completed activity to enter the contest. All completed entries will receive a day pass good for their whole family to go back to a state park.
How to Play
- Read the rules.
- Print the checklist of outdoor activities and entry form.
- Take a favorite book to a state park. READ all or some of it while at the park. Be sure to take a photo.
- Complete five or more of the outdoor activities on the checklist.
- Enlist help. Ask someone to take a picture of you completing the outdoor activities.
- Submit your checklist (along with forms) and photos to Outdoor.Challenge@dep.state.fl.us or mail to Outdoor Challenge, Department of Environmental Protection, 3900 Commonwealth Blvd, MS 30, Tallahassee, FL 32399
- Entries must be received before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011 or print and mail with a disk to 2011 Outdoor Challenge.
- Receive a FREE one-day pass for your family to a Florida state park.
- Have fun!
*One Day Pass is good for entry into any Florida State Park, up to eight people. Except at Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and Weeki Wachee Spring State Park, where the pass is good for two people. Does not include Skyway Fishing Pier State Park, camping or other fees.
