St. Andrews State Park

The Department of Environmental Protection’s St. Andrews State Park is hosting a new and exciting program about Theodore Tollofsen. Theodore, better known as "Teddy" was a Norweign sailor that found himself shipwrecked on the shore of the St. Andrews peninsula in 1929. Teddy stayed with the remnants of his boat on the sandy peninsula for 25 years. Come and hear the story of Teddy the Hermit and learn how the sailor survived in the park.

Directions: St. Andrews State Park is located three miles east of Panama City Beach, off State Road 392 (Thomas Drive.) From Highway 98 turn south onto Highway 3031 (Thomas Drive) and follow it to Highway 392. Turn left to enter into the gates of St. Andrews State Park.
