 About St. Andrews State Park

A visiting pontoon boat comes ashore.

A NOTE FROM THE MANAGER

Brian Addison

  1. Beginning September 15, 2014, the Pier Store and Restroom Project will commence.  The project consist of removing the current facility and erecting a new facility in a new location while altering the current parking lot configuration.  I anticipate that the project will be completed in April 2015.  Once this project begins, there will be limited parking and restrooms while maintaining access to the pier and beach most of the time.  However, there will be times when pier and beach access will not be available in order to complete the project and because of safety concerns with our visitors.  I will attempt  to post those times on this website prior to those specific and limited times.  Please call the park if you have any questions about this project and how it affects the pier day - use area.
  2. A portion of the Gator Lake Nature Trail is closed because of the flood.
  3. The Ironman triathelon race is taking place on 1 November in the Panama City  Beach area.  Some portions of the marathon occur within St. Andrews State Park.  Beginning at 10:00am until 11:00pm, will be limited access to the park because of the alternate traffic patterns and the high number of particpants in the race.

I want to welcome you to St. Andrews State Park and invite you to visit us during your fall vacation.  Come relax and recreate at St. Andrews State Park while enjoying all the recreational opportunities that the park has to offer with lower humidity and comfortable temperatures.  While visiting the park, you  can enjoy a variety of recreating activities such as sunbathing, swimming, camping, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, and watch beautiful sunsets on the Gulf of Mexico.  If fishing is on your itinerary, you can fish from the shoreline, the lagoon pier, or on our ocean pier that extends 500 feet out into the Gulf of Mexico.  There is something for everyone to enjoy with a multitude of recreational opportunities and abundant wildlife activity.  Enjoy the beautiful sugar white sand and the emerald clear waters of St. Andrews State Park.

While visiting St. Andrews State Park, please familiarize yourself with the color coded warning flag system for current water conditions at the entrance to the park and the beach.

If you require any special accommodations during your park visit , please call one of the telephone numbers listed for the park to reserve beach wheelchairs. Requests made in advance help to ensure reasonable accommodations are made for all visitors.   St. Andrews State Park is committed to making all reasonable efforts to ensure that our facilities, programs and services are accessible to, and usable by, all people, including those with disabilities.

We have two nature trails and Shell Island for you to explore and observe the various wildlife, native plant communities, and unspoiled beachfront.
