Testimonials for Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park
- Honestly, having a parcel of land this large in Jacksonville, that is dedicated to the preservation of Florida's coastal ecosystem, is something to be proud of. With the urban sprawl now moving to Jacksonville's North-Side, we must save what has otherwise been destroyed in other areas. If you want to see the real Florida, Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve is definately a gem worth visiting.

Lonn Biastre - Jacksonville, Florida - I have had the pleasure of visiting several of Florida's parks, but I must say that none of them impressed me as much as Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park. While in the park one gets the feeling of being very far removed from the hustle and bustle of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The serenity experienced while hiking the well maintained trails is excellent therapy for the body and mind. As a geocacher, I have had the opportunity of communicating with the Park Manager, members of his staff, a park ranger, and a park volunteer. Without exception each and every one of them couldn't have been more polite or helpful. I highly recommend spending a few hours exploring the park, and if you are lucky enough to run into one of the park personnel, I'm sure you will be made to feel as welcome as I have been.
Bob Weaver - Jacksonville, FL - We all should be very thankful to the State of Florida for preserving such a wonderful saltwater ecosystem from the
suburban development of North Jacksonville. For canoeing and kayaking, Pumpkin Hill Creek is one of the most wonderful
waterways I have ever paddled. Completely scenic and serene, the creek's wetlands are abundant with wildlife, each time
I visit, I have spotted something different. It's rare to feel so complete isolated in nature so close to a major urban area.
As a kayak fisherman, the creek has a well maintained hand launch and offers world class saltwater inshore fishing, with grassy
flats, holes, creek cuts, oyster structures and flats, the creek can produce a wide variety of fish, including trophy redfish,
speckled trout and flounder. Fisherman, Paddlers, and Ecotourists alike, Pumpkin Hill preserve is a outdoorsman's dream.
