Ponce de Leon Springs State Park

About Ponce de Leon Springs State Park

Picnic tables invite guests to relax in the shade.

A NOTE FROM THE MANAGER

The heat (of summer) is on!

Summer has finally arrived, and we are in full swing here at Ponce de Leon Springs State Park! Even though the temperatures during the day easily reach into the 90's, the spring water temperature remains at a continuous 68 degrees.

As with a large portion of the Florida Panhandle, we have been dealing with some flooding from the recently heavy rainfall amounts. And with the flooding comes erosion issues. Our swimming area and hiking trails are open for your enjoyment, however, we ask that you please use caution while exploring the natural areas of the park. The flood waters have removed a portion of the top-soils exposing many roots from the trees and vegetation, and there are some uneven areas of the ground, so please watch your step while enjoying the natural beauty of Ponce de Leon Springs State Park.

And don't forget to bring Fido! Although pets are not allowed in the swimming areas or in state buildings, non-aggressive pets are welcome here in the Florida State Parks. But please maintain control of your pets at all times with a leash (6-foot maximum), and please bring supplies to pick-up after your pets. **
