Perdido Key State Park Photos

Spiderwort is a drought tolerant native plant that is key to dune formation. The boardwalks at Perdido Key not only make beach access easier, they also protect the fragile dunes and endangered species like the Perdido Key Beach Mouse. Sand fencing gets covered up as the winds blow the sand along the beach; the beginning of new dunes.

The seemingly frail sea-oat is a protected species. It is an important natural perennial whose roots help stabilize the sand dune. One of several picnic shelters at the Perdido Key State Park. Each access has two shelters that are ADA accessibile.
