Just a short drive from town is one of the most relaxing experiences one can enjoy: a day at the Beach! Sugar white sand, plenty of warm turquoise water and yourself are all that’s needed.

Perdido Key State Park is the place to be for the summer. This beautiful Florida State Park offers swimming, bird watching, shell collecting and many other wholesome activities.

Marine sea turtle nesting season has begun. Currently there are three active nests upon the shores we monitor. Data collected from these monitored nests provide insight and understanding of these endangered species.

Spend the day at the beach and sleep just across the bay on one of seventy-five campsites offered at nearby Big Lagoon State Park.

Welcome to Perdido Key State Park

Barrier islands protect the Florida mainland from the harsh effects of storms and provide habitats for shorebirds and other coastal animals. Perdido Key is a 247-acre barrier island near Pensacola on the Gulf of Mexico. White sand beaches and rolling dunes covered with sea oats make this park a favorite destination for swimmers and sunbathers. Surf fishing is another popular activity. Boardwalks from the parking lot allow visitors to access the beach without causing damage to the fragile dunes and beach vegetation. Covered picnic tables overlooking the beach provide a great place for family outings. Located 15 miles southwest of Pensacola, off State Road 292.

Park Fees

Admission Fee:

$3.00 per vehicle. Please use the honor box to pay fees. Correct change is required. Limit 8 people per vehicle.

$2.00 Pedestrians, bicyclists, extra passengers, passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass.
