GENTLE WALK AND TALK
Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park

First and third Thursday of every month; October through March

If you would rather stop and smell the roses than live life in the fast lane, join us for a gentle walk on La Chua trail. This gentle walk is approximately 1 mile and will take you to the edge of the Alachua Sink and the prairie marsh. It is suitable for those who aren’t ardent hikers. The pace is slow and comfortable, and your guide will stop and talk along the way about what you see and Paynes Prairie history. Begins at 9:00 a.m. at La Chua Trailhead. No pets are permitted.

Call the Visitor Center between 9AM and 4PM at 352-466-4100 to RSVP.

Fee: $2.00 per person.  For additional information, call Amber Roux at 352-466-4966 or email Amber.Roux@dep.state.fl.us

10 person limit!  Call the Visitor Center at 352-466-4100 for reservations.
