MOONLIGHT BIKE RIDES AT MYAKKA RIVER STATE PARK
Myakka River State Park
Date: Thursday, March 13, 2014 6:30pm (note time change)
Meet at the Visitors’ Center near the Ranger Station.
Distance: 10 miles – we’ll take a break at the half waypoint.
Equipment needed: bicycle with front and rear lights and bug spray. A helmet is strongly recommended and is mandatory for anyone under the age of 16.
Join volunteer guides on a leisurely bike ride along the main drive to experience Myakka after dark. View sunset across Big Flats and the moon over Upper Myakka Lake. Learn a little of Myakka’s history, watch for deer at dusk and listen for barred owls. At the end of our ride climb the Canopy Walkway Tower to see the distant lights of Sarasota.
Fees: $10.00 per person ($8.00 for Friends Members)
