NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY
Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park

Date: Saturday, September 27, 2014.

Description:

Lend a hand and grab a shovel as we beautify the park entrance and ranger station area by creating two new native plant gardens. Native plants use less water and attract native pollinators and wildlife. Local businesses, garden clubs, and native plant society have donated native plant materials, and a landscape architect will be designing the gardens, but we need your help! Please bring comfortable clothes, close-toed shoes, hat, sunblock, insect repellent, water bottle, gardening or work gloves, and anything else you need to be comfortable while working outside. The park will provide any necessary tools like shovels and rakes.

All volunteers that participate in the event will be allowed free entry into the park for the rest of the day and will receive a free entry pass to any Florida State Park for a future visit!

For more information call the ranger station at 352-473-4701 or email Craig Littaure.
