Manatee Springs State Park Photos

It's Autumn at Manatee Springs. The cypress needles have discolored to a burnt sienna. A Great Egret hunts for fish along the shores of the Spring Run. The fire is almost ready for grilling.
Most of the sites have fire rings that have grills already in place. Easy campfire cooking. Vultures are a common site at Manatee Springs. The Turkey Vulture is here year round while the Black Vulture migrates here in the Winter. They can often be seen in Cypress trees along the Suwannee River.

Catfish hotel isn't a hotel, but rather
a popular place for certified divers. With proper certification, you can open water, cavern, and cave dive and view centuries of lime rock formations and underwater life. Reflections of Cypress trees and knees
in the Blue-toned waters at the spring. Even though the water is clear, it takes on different shades as the light changes throughout the day. Late afternoon sun shines on the
Cypress that line the shores of the Suwannee, bringing out the colors of early Autumn.

Swim and snorkel to view abundant
underwater life in the Manatee Spring. One can only wonder what this Great Egret is pondering along the shores of the Spring Run. Occasionally the river waters rise which in turn, makes the spring waters rise as seen along the trunk of this Cypress Tree.
