John D. MacArthur Beach State Park
Date: March 7-31, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
After receiving his first commission in 1948, James Hutchinson began to study the beauty of Florida’s natural surroundings. After graduating from Florida State University and serving in the U.S. Navy, Jim went to study and live with the Seminole Indian Tribe. As a result of his intimate understanding of the people and places of Florida, James Hutchinson was chosen to represent the State of Florida during the World’s Fair in New York City in 1965, and afterwards, his reputation spread across the country. In March of 2011, James was inducted into the Florida Artist Hall of Fame.
