Letchworth-Love Mounds Archaeological State Park
Welcome to Letchworth-Love Mounds Archaeological State Park
Visitors to this archaeological site will see Florida's tallest Native American ceremonial mound which was built between 1100 and 1800 years ago. The mound is 46 feet in height. The people who built the mound are believed to have been members of the Weeden Island Culture, a group of Native Americans who lived in North Florida between 200 and 800 A.D. The park offers picnicking, birding and hiking. An interpretive trail starts at the base of the ceremonial mound and winds past several smaller mounds. The picnic area and platform viewing area for the mound are wheelchair-accessible. Guided tours are available upon request.
