Volunteer Spotlight, Mike Kelley

Mike Kelley has been a volunteer at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park for many years and serves as an active board member, having served as vice president and president of the Friends of San Felasco. Mike is an avid cyclist and enjoys being out in the park, enhancing trail features, and ensuring the trail is open and safe for visitors. He is a go-to guy for park staff, who often ask for his help or advice on repairs and maintenance around the park shop.

Mike has a long history of service, from his military service to a career in law enforcement and fire rescue in Alachua County. When Mike isn’t out improving the trails of San Felasco, he enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking and camping with his wife, Nancy, in Florida State Parks. He is also very active with the Alachua County Sheriffs Office Retirees Association, serving as the vice president. Mike is also vice president of the Suwannee Bike Association.
