San Felasco Hammock Preserve caters to a community of competitors with its variety of events. Envision a crisp morning, dew still covers the grass, and you hear the symphony of nature’s harmony coupled with the hum of chatter among those competing. The excitement of the journey that follows slowly builds with each passing minute.

The most notable and longstanding event is the Tour de Felasco, a 50-mile mountain bike tour (not race!) that winds through one of North Florida’s most diverse ecological and geological preserves. The course, replete with hills, short climbs, creek crossing and log bridges, is sure to challenge each rider’s endurance.

Participants are welcome from all corners of the world to take part in this event. It fills up fast and is well worth the experience.

Participants get ready for Gate2Gate Trail Run.

Another prominent event is the Gate2Gate Trail Run. The title is authentic to the course layout, traveling from the preserve’s north entrance to the south entrance and back, making this a 25K run. If you are looking for an additional challenge there is the option of completing the course twice, totaling a span of 50K. The course traverses 7,000 acres of mesic hammock, upland pine forest and sandhill natural communities.

The scenic terrain of this competition makes it unparalleled among others.

Mark your calendars now! We invite you to grab your fat tire bike for the Tour de Felasco each January or test your endurance each October at the Gate2Gate Trail Run, and enjoy these special courses in a very special place.
