Special Events for Lake Louisa State Park

• 2009 LAKE LOUISA SPRINT TRIATHLON SERIES
  Date: July 18, 2009, 7:00 a.m.
  Description: Race consists of a 1/4 mile swim in Lake Louisa, 7 mile bike, and 1.5 mile run on the paved Park Drive. There are two divisions, elite (draft legal) and Age-Group (non-drafting). Elite athletes must pay cash on race day ($30). All participants must show proof of USA Triathlon membership or purchase a one-day licence for $10 at check-in. Sign up online at usantc.com
  Fees: Participants: $30 ($20 for NTC members) per race, $100 for series ($16.66 per race).

• LAKE LOUISA SUMMER CYCLING SERIES
  Date: Tuesday, August 4, 2009, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  Description: Lake Louisa State Park will once again host this bicycle race series. The races will be split into two categories ranging between 15-30 miles long. The top three finishing participants in each category will be awarded trophies.

Lake Louisa State Park Ranger Programs

• VOLUNTEER WORKDAY
  3rd Saturday of the month 9 AM - 12 PM Oct. 16, N Work along side staff and volunteers to complete various park projects. Volunteers get a chance to learn about the park’s resource management and visitor service goals and how they too can become environmental stewards of the park. Participates will receive a free lunch provided by the Friends of Lake Louisa State Park.

• CAMPFIRE PROGRAM
  Oct - Mar 2nd Saturday one-hour after Park closes CAMPFIRE PROGRAM for overnight guests only at the Group Fire Ring located in the campground. Listen to stories or learn fun facts about the park or its inhabitants. Call (352)394-3969 for more details.
