Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park

About Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park

National Archaeology Day

A NOTE FROM THE MANAGER

Rob Lacy, Manager

Winter has arrived and it is a great time to visit the park. We invite you to visit Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park to experience the sights and sounds of cooler weather.  Many bird species and other wildlife may be found throughout the park. Take a leisurely stroll on our nature trails.  The rangers have been observing lots of fox and owls recently.  We also invite you to enjoy lunch in our picnic area.  Or enjoy the vistas from the observation decks on top of the mounds.

Lake Jackson Mounds is a great place for school field trips. The vast archaeological, cultural and natural resources found here make this a perfect setting for classes studying Florida history or natural science. Ranger led tours are available. Please contact the park at least two weeks prior to your visit to make arrangements.
