Testimonials for Jonathan Dickinson State Park
- "What a great park! We reserved two camping sites, at the Pinegrove, for my family of 12. I was looking for a woody and forest like area and the pinegrove is just excellent. It was just a great experience. My children(teenagers), cousins, aunt/uncle, grandparents had a lot of fun, especially with the boat/canoe rental and bike trails. My mother took the boat tour and enjoyed Trapper Nelson’s tour. The staff at the concession were superb as well as the park ranger. The bathrooms were super clean and had hot showers and the grounds were kept clean. We truly enjoyed it and want to come back soon for another great fun yet, relaxing getaway."

Damaris Gandarillas - Miami, FL - "We spent a week at John Dickinson State Park over the New Year’s Holiday and just loved it. The variety of recreational activities and nature watching is fantastic. We biked, canoed, hiked, visited the beaches of Hobe Sound, Juno, and Jupiter. The birdlife and alligators were a highlight of the trip for both my wife and I and our 2 1/2 year old son. We camped a day in the Pines and the rest of the time in the River Campground. We loved it so much we’ll be back in the spring. Recommend for anyone."

Gregg and Kim Fowler - Nashville, TN - This is to let everyone involved know what a special time can be enjoyed at Jonathan Dickinson State Park. We have just returned from a weekend there and wanted to say thank-you. Rick my fiance was the winner of the Trapper Nelson look a like contest, so he had won the stay at the campground. We rented canoes and had a beautiful ride, enjoyed with the wildlife flying over, roosting in trees and swimming along side our canoe. Ospreys, Blue Heron, Egrets, Anhinga's, and Alligators, up close and personal; with deer in the picnic areas, Met by Ranger Todd, who shared stories and was most informative.
Being natives of Florida only made our stay more enjoyable as the park is Old Florida at best. The audio trip with Ranger Barry Richardson's wonderful look back at the history of a park, well maintained and steeped in history was our final journey before we departed on Sunday. Jonathan Dickinson is a jewel that should be kept shining for all those wishing to enjoy Florida at its best. Thank-you all for doing the job. Special Thanks for having the contest and bringing us back to the park. Kudos' to Ranger Barry Richardson.
Sincerely, Betty Carr and Richard Cohen alias Trapper Nelson of 2005
Betty Carr - , - I came to know Jonathan Dickinson for the first time in November of 2005 I was spending a little more then a week with my boyfriend at the time and now we are haply engaged. I never been a woody person never been camping so it was my first time and it was also my first in Florida and I think Jonathan Dickinson. For that great experience and when I returned to Florida a couple of months later I ask right away if we where staying at JD as I like to call it now I thank the whole park for the great experience and can't wait to go back again
Michelle Nilsson - Philadelphia, PA - We camped at JD State Park over Spring Break 07 and thoroughly enjoyed the entire stay. We even helped break a drought while setting up camp. It was dry the entire week besides when we were setting up! Luckily there is a Wendy's not far outside the park as we finally gave up on cooking that night! We shared alot of laughs and met some other wonderful folks from other areas of FL as well. Thanks for keeping JD great!
Rick, JoAnn, Austin and Kayla (our dog) too!
JoAnn Glatfelter - Satellite Beach, FL - My first visit to JDSP was a pretty good one. I only have one complaint, so I'll get that out of the way first. The hiking trails are too sandy; in some spots the sand is 4 or 5 inches deep and it is hard to hike on. Other than that, it was good. The rangers were very friendly and extremely helpful. I only-thru hiked the East Loop Trail but I got to see some wild life including a random turtle sitting on the middle of the trail. More importantly, I saw a panther pouncing across the trail about 40 yards ahead of me.
