Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

About Hugh Taylor Birch State Park

A picnic bench welcomes visitors at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.

A NOTE FROM THE MANAGER

Jim Gibson

I hope everyone is having a Happy and Healthy 2013! Now is the perfect time to visit your local state park. The crowds are smaller and wildlife is abundant. The park has several 5K charity races coming up over the next several months. For more details on our upcoming events please see our events page with descriptions and links.

Ranger-guided tours are offered every Friday at 10:30 a.m. The themes of these tours alternate through each of our park’s unique ecosystems. These ecosystems include Mangrove, Tropical Hardwood Hammock, Coastal Dune Lake, and Beach habitat. If you cannot make the Friday walks you can always take our free, self-guided Audio Tour which can be found on our park’s “Mid Trail.” Please ask for details at the Ranger Station.

Guided Segway tours, kayak, bike, and skate rentals are available through the park's concession, M.Cruz Rentals. If you are interested in volunteering at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, or becoming part of our citizen support organization, the Friends of Birch State Park, Inc., or have any questions, please call the Ranger Station at (954) 564-4521.
