Manager's Message
Due to the dry conditions throughout the county, Volusia County Fire Services has issued an outdoor burn ban. Please contact the park if you have any further questions>
Canoe and kayak rentals are available on a first come first serve basis at Hontoon Island. Enjoy the three mile round trip hiking trail that leads to a large Indian mound. Bring your bicycles and ride over five miles of service roads in the center of the park. A trip to Hontoon Island is not complete until you spend a few minutes in the museum and Island store. The ferry, which brings you from the parking area to the island runs from 8:00 a.m. until one hour before sunset. There is no formal charge for park entry or the ferry ride although donations are gladly accepted. Tent camping and rustic cabins are open year around. Check with Reserve America (1-800-326-3521) for availability.
