9/11 HEROES RUN 5K
Grayton Beach State Park
Date: Saturday, event starts at 8:00 a.m.
The Department of Environmental Protection’s Grayton Beach State Park, in conjunction with the historic community of Grayton Beach and the 31 Heroes Project, invites you, your family, and friends to come and cheer on veterans of the armed forces and other participants of the 9/11 Heroes Run 5k Fun Run and Walk. The 5K will start on the beach at Grayton Beach State Park in South Walton County, Florida. Participants will run the sugar white sandy beach of Grayton Beach State Park, then traverse through the historic town of Grayton Beach, along the county paved bike path, turn and run along the park drive and end at the Grayton Beach State Park boat ramp area overlooking Western Lake. Large portions of the proceeds raised stay in the local community and support local veterans, their families, and first responders. Remaining proceeds support the race host non-profit Travis Manion Foundation Programs: Challenge Grants, which provide veterans and families of fallen service members support through service-based team building events that foster camaraderie and facilitate successful life transitions and the Travis Manion Foundation Character Does Matter program.
Fees: Entrance fees are waived for run participants and support staff only.

Directions: Grayton Beach State Park is located South of U.S. 98 approximately halfway between Panama City Beach and Destin. Take County Road 283 south of U.S. 98, turn left at the stop sign on 30A. Approximately half a mile east of the intersection of County Road 30A and County Road 283 the entrance is on the right.
