Manager's Message
Summer is here and increases in temperature means an increase in outdoor activity. We invite everyone to come out and take a refreshing dip in the ocean or picnic in the shade along the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway. Just remember your sun screen and insect repellent!
Sea turtle season began in May and there are a few things that visitors can do to help protect these amazing creatures. Please make sure to remove all trash and other items from the beach. Visitors camping with us are asked to avoid using flashlights, lanterns or flash photography on the beach at night. Additionally, if lights from campers can be seen from the beach, you will be asked to turn them off or shield them, as this can cause nesting sea turtles and hatchlings to become disoriented.
After a lot of hard work by one of our faithful volunteers there is now a third dune crossover available to campers. The crossover located behind the bathhouse is now open! However campers are advised that this is a stairs-only access point. Ramp access is currently only available at the day use crossover just north of the campground.
Campers are advised that engineers are working on the design and permitting process for our dune crossovers. We will replace the old crossovers damaged by storms with three access points and three overlooks. Campers are advised that when construction begins, reservations may need to be modified or cancelled based on the nature of the work being completed. Park staff will work diligently to assure that the impact to campers is as minimal as possible. We greatly appreciate your patience while the project moves forward.

Welcome to Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach
Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, this windswept park is named for Florida folk singer Gamble Rogers and railroad entrepreneur Henry Flagler. The beach is the most popular feature at this park, where visitors enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or beachcombing. The daily low tide is an ideal time to observe shore birds feeding in tidal ponds; summer months bring sea turtles that lay their eggs in the golden-brown sand. On the Intracoastal Waterway side of the park, picnic pavilions provide a shady place to enjoy a meal. A nature trail winds through a shady coastal forest of scrub oaks and saw palmetto. Boaters and canoeists can launch from a boat ramp on the Intracoastal Waterway. The park's full-facility campground overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is just a short walk along a boardwalk from the beach. Located in Flagler Beach off Highway A1A.
