Manager's Message
NOTICE: Due to dry conditions in Flagler County, open fires, including campfires, will not be allowed for at least a week. This may be extended if conditions persist. Barbecue and gas grills which are contained may continue to be used.
NOTICE 11/11/08: Last winter storms severely damaged our beach access points. Unfortunately the harsh surf also eroded the dune which prevented making the necessary repairs. A work project is currently in place to replace the old crossovers with 3 access points and 3 overlooks. Engineers are working on the design and permits. Our goal is to have pilings in place prior to the start of sea turtle nesting season in May. We appreciate your patience while the project moves forward.
Cooler days are here, providing the perfect setting for a daytime hike through our beautiful Maritime Hammock. If fishing is more your interest, test your skills by dropping your line in the Intracoastal Waterway and see what bites. Or enjoy the warmer days by taking a leisurely stroll on our pristine beach. We invite you to come out and enjoy this beautiful winter weather while it lasts.
Take note that camping at Gamble Roger’s Memorial State Recreation Area is high in demand. Please make your reservations early. Reservations can be made online at http: www.reserveamerica.com or by phone 1-800-326-3521.

Welcome to Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach
Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, this windswept park is named for Florida folk singer Gamble Rogers and railroad entrepreneur Henry Flagler. The beach is the most popular feature at this park, where visitors enjoy swimming, sunbathing, or beachcombing. The daily low tide is an ideal time to observe shore birds feeding in tidal ponds; summer months bring sea turtles who lay their eggs in the golden-brown sand. On the Intracoastal Waterway side of the park, picnic pavilions provide a shady place to enjoy a meal. A nature trail winds through a shady coastal forest of scrub oaks and saw palmetto. Boaters and canoeists can launch from a boat ramp on the Intracoastal Waterway. The park's full-facility campground overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is just a short walk along a boardwalk from the beach. Located in Flagler Beach off Highway A1A.
