Friends of Florida State Parks, Inc., (FFSP) is a nonprofit citizen support organization of Florida citizens and visitors dedicated to supporting our state parks. Together with the Florida Park Service, FFSP works to enhance, protect and promote all of Florida's state parks.
Welcome!
Friends of Florida State Parks is pleased to have you visit our website. Whether you are a hiker, camper, walker, horseback rider, swimmer, snorkeler, birdwatcher, scuba diver, surfer, photographer, gardener or day visitor you can find worlds of excitement in the Florida State Parks.
Our parks consist of more than natural forests, white sandy beaches, rivers, springs, trails, forts, museums, lighthouses and the outdoors. Our parks are a living reminder of Florida's heritage and its future. Volunteers help in keeping this tradition alive.
The Friends of Florida State Parks is a nonprofit citizen support organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing our 161 award winning state parks. You may have seen our volunteers in the water at the aquatic preserves, on their knees weeding in ornamental gardens, in re-enactment costumes at a fort or museum or at the local campsite.
Volunteers are vital to the success of our state park system. They, with the dedicated state park staff share in the commitment to nurture the parks for today's enjoyment and tomorrow's protection. The Friends of Florida State Parks provides support through education and publications, such as the Real Florida magazine. The efforts of these volunteers are much appreciated and formally recognized through an Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards Program.
If you enjoy the State Parks, consider being a Friend. We invite you to come be a part of the Real Florida.
