Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park

About Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park

Many people sunbathe on the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West.

John Maehl

As summer winds down and fall approaches, we begin to turn our attention toward various events that are just around the corner.

In October, our Historic Fort Taylor is transformed into Haunted Fort Taylor where the adventurous can experience spooky chills within Fort Taylor's walls, then enjoy a haunting film in the Salle Port.

The Golden Age of Piracy comes to life at Fort Taylor through encampments, battles, and demonstrations during Pyrate Invasion in December.

For those wishing for a more relaxing experience, get back to nature as you enjoy a bike ride around the park or a stroll along the trail where you can see a variety of shorebirds, hawks, swallows and warblers visiting us during their fall migration.

Ocean temperatures in the fall still offer enjoyable swimming and snorkeling, where colorful tropical sea life can be seen just off shore.

As you can see, there are endless ways of having fun at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. We’ll see you here soon.
