Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park

About Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park

Many people sunbathe on the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park in Key West.

Tony Knott

Although winter is upon us, the beach fun does not have to end. In Key West, we enjoy some of the warmest water temperatures in the country, all year long. Go for a swim, relax on the beach and have lunch in our picnic area. You can also enjoy a leisure walk along our trails -you may spot some of our feathered friends who stop by during their winter migration. At the days end, experience a spectacular sunset in this tropical setting.

If there is a wedding in your future, our beach is a beautiful location to exchange your vows.

History buffs can take a step back in time during Civil War Heritage Days in February. Experience the Civil War era as Fort Zachary Taylor is transformed into an encampment, and witness a battle that takes place between land and sea.

The beach, the ocean and history await you at Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park.
