EXPLORING MOSE: GUIDED TOUR
Fort Mose Historic State Park

Join us and discover the rich history of Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose, the first legally sanctioned, free African settlement in what is now the United States.

This one and a half hour program will begin in the park’s visitor center and museum and conclude with a tour of the park grounds. Listen to tales of oppression, resistance, and the struggle for freedom. Explore what life was like for the brave freedom seekers once they escaped the constraints of slavery and earned their freedom in Spanish St. Augustine. Finally, find out how this American treasure that was once considered lost was ultimately rediscovered. Conclude your journey with a visit to the park’s museum, where you will enjoy a number of multimedia exhibits and artifact displays.

Appropriate for all ages. Length: approximately 45 minutes. This program is available to groups upon request.

This program is available to groups upon request (Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays).    Please see the Group Program & Tour Information and Guidelines;or contact the park for more information.
