Spring has arrived and just in time for warm days and cool nights the Fort Clinch Beachside Campground is reopened .  A new state of the art universally accessible bathouse awaits your camping adventure  Spring time  provides  a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the  beach, share a picnic lunch with family or recreate the magic moments that remain as memories forever. It is  the perfect time to experience some of the finest camping Florida has to offer.  Whether hiking in the deep woods of our maritime hammock or on pristine Atlantic beaches, you are sure to enjoy a natural experience like no other. Of course, our renowned Living History programming is available every day at Historic Fort Clinch. The Fort Clinch fishing pier  fishing action is warming up along with the surf . The pier provides universal access, and a new boardwalk made of maintenance free recycled materials and upgraded handrails provides recreational opportunites enhanced by renovated restroom facilities and solar powered lighting. The beach and other fishing areas are also accessible and open. Come on out and have a good time.

GETTING HERE

Take I-95 to the Fernandina Beach/Callahan exit (Milepost Exit 373 - Old Exit 129), and stay to the right. You will then be traveling east on A1A. (This road becomes 8th Street within the town limits of Fernandina.) Stay on this road, (A1A), for 16 miles until you come to the intersection of 8th Street and Atlantic Avenue. Turn right on Atlantic Avenue and go about two miles, Fort Clinch State Park will be on the left.

GET INVOLVED

  • Volunteer -

    Fort Clinch has something for everyone. Volunteers restore and maintain the environment and natural resources, guide bird tours, beach walks and nature programs, as well as host living history and interpretive programs. The park also has positions for campground hosts. All sites occupied by camping volunteers are to be maintained by them, from weeding, tidying up, mulching, etc. The occupants of the host sites will be park staff's eyes and ears in the campgrounds. Duties may include cleaning restrooms and campsite areas, answering camper questions and availability in case of an emergency. If any or all of the above mentioned material interests you consider joining the team at Fort Clinch State Park.

  • Florida State Parks Pet Policy
  • Pets are permitted but are restricted to the hiking trails, picnic areas, campgrounds and roadways. Pets are not permitted on beaches, boardwalks, the pier or the fort. Pets must be on a leash six-foot handheld leash at all times and cannot be left unattended.
