Gold and brown limestone formations cover a cavern wall.

Manager's Message

Come on out and bear witness to this beautiful part on nature.

If you are planning a vacation or a special event, Florida Caverns State Park is ready to serve your family.

Whether you are here to camp or visit our day use areas, visitors have many activities to choose from at the park.

Of course the Cavern Tours are our main attraction. Our tours run every hour from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm Thursday through Monday, but unfortunately are closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays.

For a nice, relaxing day, pack a picnic and enjoy lunch under a covered pavilion built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, afterwards let the kids enjoy the playground.

Florida Caverns has a thirty-two site family campground, three site Horse camp, and three primitive tent sites all built around the beautiful Blue Hole Springs.

In addition to family camping, the park also has a youth/group camping area. This primitive camping area is divided into two sites, with restroom and cold shower facilities provided. Along with camping activities, the park can also set up a service project for youth organizations, such as litter clean up, planting projects, or construction projects.

For a great day outside, bring a fishing pole, or take a leisurely walk on a nature trail. Want some exercise? Bring your bike and ride through the park, or rent a canoe and paddle up the Chipola River.

In addition to the many activities, the park also offers pavilion space to rent for family gatherings, reunions, birthdays, weddings, and other celebrations.

Florida Caverns State Park is here to serve and meet your family needs. Please stop by and enjoy your park.

- Chris Hawthorne, Park Manager

Welcome to Florida Caverns State Park

This is one of the few state parks with dry (air filled) caves and is the only Florida state park to offer cave tours to the public. The cave has dazzling formations of limestone stalactites, stalagmites, soda straws, flowstones, and draperies. Florida Caverns is also popular for camping, swimming, fishing, picnicking, canoeing, boating, hiking, bicycling, and horseback riding (The park does not rent horses). Stables are available for equestrian campers. Cave tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and are considered to be moderately strenuous. An audiovisual program, touring the cave and other natural areas of the park, is available in the visitor center. Located three miles north of Marianna on State Road 166.
