Birding

Birding is a popular activity at Faver-Dykes State Park. Visitors enjoy birding on foot walking the nature trails and by boat on the calm waters of Pellicer Creek. Check out our Check Off List.

A boat ramp is located in the park allowing small boats and canoes access to the Pellicer Creek.

Camping, Full Facility

The park has 30 campsites located in a shady hardwood hammock with natural vegetation buffers located between most of the sites. Each campsite has water, electricity, an inground fire circle with a grill and a picnic table. Hot showers and restrooms with ADA accessible amenities are available. A dump station is located at the campground. Well-behaved pets are allowed in the campground.

Consumption of alcohol beverages is prohibited, except campers may consume alcoholic beverages within their campsites.   

Maximum RV length = 30 ft.

Camping, Youth

A primitive youth camping area accommodates up to 50 people. The site includes a pitcher pump for water, a fire circle and a pit toilet. To make reservations for your youth group, call the park at (904) 794-0997.

Canoeing & Kayaking

Pellicer Creek is a designated Florida state canoe trail. The creek and tributaries offer a beautiful place to observe the varied bird and marine life of the area. Canoes are available for rent by advanced reservation.

Fishing

Pellicer Creek borders the southern boundary of the park and is popular for fishing. Both saltwater and freshwater species can be caught in Pellicer Creek. Red drum, black drum, sheepshead, spotted seatrout, common snook can all be caught from the park's fishing dock. Freshwater species such as large mouth bass and bream can be caught closer to the creek headwaters. A fishing license may be required. Size and bag limits are strictly enforced. All of the current regulations are available at the park.

Hiking/Nature Trail

The park has two 1/2 mile loop nature trails. One trail begins near the picnic area and winds along the pine flatwoods into the scrub and along Pellicer Creek. The other trail begins in the campground and winds along the hardwood hammock and along the banks of Pellicer Creek. Several miles of park boundary roads and back woods roads are also available for hiking. Please make prior arrangements with park staff to hike these backwoods areas.

Picnicking

Faver-Dykes State Park provides picnic facilities located along beautiful Pellicer Creek. There are two covered pavilions with other tables and grills located throughout the picnic area. The picnic area's close proximity to the creek affords a short walk to the park's fishing dock. The picnic area is located under a canopy of large old growth long leaf pine trees, which create a soft ground cover of pine needles. One of the pavilions is available on a reservation basis by calling the park. Restroom facilities and a children's play area is also available in the picnic area.  Consumption of alcohol beverages is prohibited, except campers may consume alcoholic beverages within their campsites.   

Playground

For further enjoyment we have a children's playground located in the picnic area over looking the tidal marshes of Pellicer Creek. The playground is equipped with such amenities as a slide and swing set. It is located in a hardwood hammock, and is sure to provide ample shade.

Restroom Facilities

ADA Restroom facilities are available in the Picnic Area, Boat Ramp and Campground. Camp-ground has showers and dump station.
