Testimonials for Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park
- Just wanted you to know about my siting on Saturday morning, March 25, 2006. Was birding on Tram 7 and watched a juvenile Florida panther stare at me and my companion along the trail for 2 full minutes. About 50 yds away. Conditions were very windy so cat probably didn't scent us. Our binocs were up already so we didn't move a muscle. Cat's eyes were already golden in color, so it was probably more than 6 mos. old. Very few spots remaining on legs, though rings on tail were visible. It was first standing, then sat down, then shifted onto a hip. In a blink of an eye, it was gone. A thrill of a lifetime.
