Essential Eligibility Criteria

• Must not exceed the 500lb weight limit per water craft.
• Must have the ability to follow verbal and/or visual instruction independently or with the assistance of a companion.
• Must have the ability to wear a properly fitted personal flotation device.
• Must have the ability to enter and exit the water craft independently or with the assistance of a companion or use of adaptive equipment.
• Must have the ability to remain seated, maneuver, and balance independently or with the assistance of a companion or with the use of adaptive equipment.
• Must have at least one person in the water craft the ability to move through the water in a stable manner and return it back to the storage rack.
• Must have the ability to lift and carry the water craft from the storage rack to the launching point individually with the assistance of a companion or with adaptive equipment.
• Must have the ability to pursue the rental procedures individually or with a companion at the Ranger Station where fees are charged and registration completed, keys are distributed, flotation devices, and paddles are stored.

In the event of a capsize:

• One must have the ability to get out from under the water craft, independently.
• One must have the ability to right oneself and remain face up in the water with the aid of a personal flotation device.
