Essential Eligibility Criteria
Compass & Map Reading
In order to participate in this Program, one:
• Must have the ability to follow visual and/or verbal instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion.
• Must provide one’s own drinking water and other personal need items.
• Must have the ability to withstand exposure to the outdoors under a variety of conditions for up to 4 hours.
• Must have the ability to traverse soft, wet, sandy, and uneven terrain for up to 1 mile independently or with the assistance of a companion.
• Must have the ability to hold a map and/or compass independently or with the assistance of a companion.
