Essential Eligibility Criteria


Up Past Bedtime Children's Movie Series

Held at various times throughout the event season on an evening when most children do not have to attend school the next day (Labor Day Sunday, an evening during Christmas Break, etc). Gates open at 7 p.m. during Daylight Savings time and at 6 p.m. during Standard time. Movie begins an hour after gates open (8:00 p.m. EDST or 7:00 p.m. EST. Gates close and no entry is allowed an hour and fifteen minutes after gates open (8:15 p.m. EDST or 7:15 p.m. EST).

 

To attend this event, movie-goers must:
 
  • Have the ability to traverse a paved multi-use trail for a distance of approximately 1200 feet (600 feet each direction) independently or with the assistance of a companion or with the assistance of a device.
  • Traverse whatever portion of the grassy lawn to their desired movie-viewing location independently or with the assistance of companion or device. (Distances and terrain will vary).
  • In the event of rain, movie will be shown in Micco Pavilion; therefore the ability to traverse an additional 1,180 feet (590 in each direction) may be required.
  • Be able to understand and follow verbal and/or visual instructions independently or with assistance of companion.
  • Be able to sit in chair, stand, or lie on a blanket independently or with the assistance of companion or device. 
  • Withstand exposure to the night-time outdoors for a period of two to three hours (or any portion thereof).
  • Be able to remain quiet for a period of two to three hours (or any portion thereof). 
  • Be able to remove trash, litter, and picnic remains as The Barnacle is a “pack it in, pack it out” park.
