Essential Eligibility Criteria

In order to participate in this program, one must:

Be able to manage all personal care and mobility independently or with the assistance of a companion who accompanies the participant.
Be able to maintain a quiet demeanor.
Riders under 16 years of age must have the ability to wear a provided safety helmet.
Must wear closed-toe protective footwear.
Must have the ability to follow verbal and/or visual instructions independently or with the assistance of a companion.
Must have the ability to mount and dismount the horse independently or with the assistance of a companion.
Must have the ability to remain in a seated and balanced position while on the horse independently.
Must have the ability to direct the horse’s speed and direction of travel independently.
Be less than 250 pounds.
Be four feet in height or taller.
Be six (6) years of age or older.
