Additional Information for Dudley Farm Historic State Park

Plant Life

The historic front yard features antique roses along with camellias, amaryllis, a 90-year-old sago palm, and the champion state buckeye hickory tree. Seasonal flowers including larkspur, achimenes, and lilies. Hundred-year-old crape myrtles, pecan, pear and cedar trees can be seen throughout the farmstead.

Wildlife

Resources

The crops planted are the same as the Dudley’s planted: flint corn, sweet potatoes, and sugar cane. The vegetable garden is planted seasonally with heirloom seeds. Old fashioned scuppernong grapes, peaches and fig trees are found in the back yard.

Pets

Pets are allowed in the picnic area only. Due to the sensitive nature of the farm they are not allowed at the farmstead.

Please see our General Parks Pet Policy for more information.
