Manager's Message

The beach construction at Curry Hammock is complete, and we are pleased with the results. The project also provided a new canoe and kayak launch, making it easier than ever to get into the shallow, pristine waters that surround the park. If you don't have your own, kayak rentals are available through the ranger station every day between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

Summer camping is here, the campground enjoys a nice sea breeze most days which keeps temperatures down. Weekend reservations are already in short supply, don't wait to make yours through Reserve America.

For the birdwatchers, we have a bumper crop of poisonwood berries, and the white-crowned pigeons can be seen daily feasting on their favorite treat.

Welcome to Curry Hammock State Park

This park is made up of a group of islands in the Middle Keys, with public access to swimming, a playground, picnic tables, grills, and showers on the ocean side of Little Crawl Key. The hardwood hammocks found on these tropical islands support one of the largest populations of thatch palms in the United States. Mangrove swamps, seagrass beds, and wetlands provide vital habitats for tropical wildlife.

Driving Directions

The park is located along both sides of U.S. 1 starting at Little Crawl Key, Mile Marker 56.2, 11 miles west of Long Key. The entrance to the facilities is on the ocean side of U.S. 1.
