
Citizen Support Organization Annual Financial Statement Filing
The Financial Statement workbook form includes the Statement of Assets Liabilities Resulting from Cash Transactions, the Statement of Cash Receipts, Expenditures, and Scholarships Paid, and the Statement of Functional Expenses. Please utilize the Financial Statement Example Workbook and the Citizen Support Organization Handbook for guidance in developing the organization's Financial Statement Disclosures and the Statement of Accomplishments and Goals.
To comply with this expectation, each CSO shall provide the below statements, which are based on the formats and terminology of the Statement of Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS) 117 as established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board. These guidelines are intended to provide for uniform accounting, which will allow CSOs to conform to generally accepted accounting practices. These statements are presented on a cash basis of accounting.
The reports are due to the respective Bureau of Parks District offices six (6) months following the close of the CSO’s fiscal year. All CSOs which have expenditures in the excess of $300,000 for the reporting fiscal year shall also file an audit which has been completed by an independent certified accountant as prescribed in the Rules of the Auditor General, Chapter 10.700."
