• MIGRATION VACATIONS ARE FOR THE BIRDS

This program consists of four ½ hour hands-on segments that teach habitat carrying capacity, the purpose of bird banding, threats and possible solutions to bird migration issues, and assessing park habitat as it pertains to local and migrating species. All activities are adapted form the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Flying Wild curriculum.

• EXOTICS - THE SILENT INVASION
  Available upon request. This two hour program covers plants and animals that are non-native, their impact on the environment, and how the public can help prevent the introduction and spread of invasive species.

  Available upon request. This two hour class highlights good environmental citizenship around the home and when enjoying the outdoors.

• KILEY'S BOTTLE BOAT
  Available upon request. A 30 minute program for grade school age children on the importance of river systems and the animals dependent upon them.

  Available upon request. A 30 minute program for grade school age children on the importance of upland habitats and the animals dependent upon them.

• EVERYTHING HAS VALUE DAYS
  Available upon request. An hour long program for Middle School students that teaches everything has value and importance.

• SENSORY SENSITIVITY GUIDED WALK
  Available upon request. This walk highlights our 2.5 mile long Eco-walk. Participants can stop at the 10 discovery zones and practice exercising their senses. These skills will help the outdoor lover appreciate their experiences with a new level of awareness and safety.

• SCHOOLS OUT
  Available upon request. In conjunction with private organizations, free boat trips are offered to school classrooms along the Crystal River. Interpretation is provided by park staff.

• GUIDED NIGHT WALKS

• DIORAMA SCAVENGER HUNT
  Available upon request. This self guided program is suitable for upper grade school through high school students. Visitors may use the questions provided to search our dioramas in the Visitor Center for plants and animals in each of six habitats found in the park. Discussion time follows with a question and answer period.

• RIVER'S EDGE
  During the school year. Taking place on Wednesdays or Thursdays during the school year, school groups are invited to participate in a 45 minute interpretive boat tour of the Crystal River, 45 minutes of outdoor exploration time and the option of a 45 minute interactive story about springs, rivers, and animals in the river system.
