Frequently Asked Questions about Crystal River Preserve State Park
Question: Can I see manatees in the park?
Answer: Although manatees do move throughout the Crystal River and come into our boat slip on occasion, there is not normally manatee viewing in the park.
Question: Can I launch my kayak/canoe in the park?
Answer: We do not have a public boat ramp at this time. We do have docks that the public may tie up to and come in the Visitor Center.
Question: Is the area good for bird watching?
Answer: The park has many spots that are part of the Great Florida Birding Trail. We have 186 species confirmed and a possibility of 289 species to view.
Question: Can I camp in the park?
Answer: There are no camping facilities at this time.
Question: Can I picnic in the park?
Answer: We do not have a designated picnic area or grills at this time but visitors are welcome to sit at the tables on the dock at the main office on the river, or on the benches in the pavilion at Church House Hammock to eat.
Question: Can I swim in the park?
Answer: We do not have any swimming areas in the park.
