Access to the island and equestrian parking area is gate-locked. Trail users must call the Cross Florida Greenway’s West Inglis Lock Office in advance of arrival date: (352) 447-1720, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Trails on the island are primarily an unpaved surface and are shared by hikers, bikers and equestrians. Please follow appropriate trail etiquette for multi-use trails: Cyclists and hikers must yield to horses and cyclists must yield to hikers. When encountering horses, slow down, announce your presence with a friendly greeting, avoid sudden movements or sounds and follow directions from the rider.
