Frequently Asked Questions about Constitution Convention Museum State Park

Question: Where is the cemetery?
Answer: The Old St. Joseph Cemetery is approximately 2 miles from the museum. Leaving the museum, take Allen Memorial Way to Long Avenue, turn right. Go to Madison Street and turn left. At Garrison Avenue, turn left. The cemetary will be on the left.

Question: Is this the exact spot where the state’s first Constitution was signed?
Answer: It is believed that the park is in the general area of where the Constitution Hall was located. The hall was destroyed during the fall of St. Joseph.

Question: Is the building next door part of the park?
Answer: No. It is the City of Port St. Joe’s Centennial Building where dances and wedding receptions are sometimes held. The St. Joe Wildlife Sanctuary and Educational Center’s annual birding and wildlife festival events occur there in October.
