SOUTHWEST BRANCH LIBRARY SUMMER READING PROGRAM
Date: June 1st through and July 31st during normal park operating hours.
Description: The Department of Environmental Protection’s Big Lagoon State Park and the Southwest Branch Library will host the summer reading program this year in June and July. This program is being held to help young children learn to read. The event dates will be posted on the library web site @ www.CityofPensacola.com/library.
Fees: Park entrance fee waived for participants.

ESTUARY WADING TRIP
May 23rd at 10:00 a.m. The Department of Environmental Protection’s Big Lagoon State Park invites you to an estuary wading trip. Use seine nets to catch and learn about the marine species that make the estuary and sea grass flats environments unique. Guests will get wet as they venture into the estuary. Water shoes, drinking water, and sunscreen recommended. The park offers many recreational opportunities to visitors with disabilities. Should you need assistance to enable your full participation, please contact the park office. Explore and learn about the critters that make the sea grass flats their home. Fees: Event is free with park paid admission.
