NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY ANNUAL COASTAL CLEAN-UP
Bald Point State Park
Date: Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Department of Environmental Protection’s Bald Point State Park is hosting their Annual Coastal Clean-up Event. Last year we had a record year with 11.97 tons of materials collected off our shoreline with the help of 58 outstanding hard working volunteers. The materials collected last year consisted of old road materials, an old concrete beach access from what we believe was from the 70’s and 80’s, building materials and a large amount of litter that has been washed up from past storms and from day to day tide fluctuations. Volunteers should bring or wear sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, protective clothing (hat, long pants, long sleeved shirt, closed toe shoes or water shoes and gloves). Volunteers will be provided with trash bags, drinking water, data cards and gloves. We are hoping for another successful year for this year’s clean-up so come on out and enjoy a day giving back to our Florida Coastline that we all enjoy so much and are real fortunate to live near it.
Fees: Park admission fees will be waived to participating volunteers.
