We took jet ski's out to the island it was only about a 20 min ride.We first landed on the outer sand bar and went exploring and quickly found live Star Fish,Crabs,Giant Clams,and a variety of sea life.The water was a tropical turquoise and beautiful unspoiled white sand beach.A true privledge in Florida!!!It was a very special place and we look forward to going back to explore the island.Please if you visit tread lightly and don't remove any live sea life!!!

David & Shana Goodman - Deerfield beach , FL - Camped on the island for the first time this weekend! The waters and land are beautiful! Campsites were great and everyone is friendly. We went the second week of April and the bait was running like crazy. The no seeums were pretty rough and the bug spray didn't seem to affect them. A nice fire with plenty of smoke did a pretty good job though. The only complaint of the whole trip was the trash day vsistors and campers leave behind. On our first day there my fiance' and I cleaned quite a bit from previous campers to make the spot clean. After a long day on the water as we passed by a few time we noticed quite the crowd near our spot. We went for lunch and to check on the site, it was fine and the people were nice. We thought they were going to camp as well and offered them the spots near us if needed, ate lunch and headed back to sea. To our suorise when we came back the twenty or more people that were there had all vanished and left the island littered with trash and bottles floating away. Again we cleaned it all up. Unfortunately this happened again the next day! This a very beautiful island and I don't think people realize how much of a privilage it is to have such a place to enjoy. My idea is the same as the Girl Scouts, leave with more than you came with. We took as much trash as possible, but that was only from one campsite. If everyone was respectful those uf us who already are wouldn't have to worry about cleaning up after them! A cooler full of trash and empty bottles weighs less and takes up less space, so there's no excuse to not bring trash back with you! We enjoyed our stay greatly and hope to be back soon!
