Alafia River State Park
March 9, 2015; 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Up to 80% of formerly common bird species have declined. The swallow-tailed kite’s range is now just a third its historic size. Learn about these beautiful birds, their lengthy migration and efforts to try and save them from extinction. We will also learn about short-tailed hawks, snail kites, great white herons, reddish egrets, Southeastern American kestrels and the crested caracara.
