TURKEY BURN ADVENTURE RACE
Date: December 13, 2008, 4:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Description: Teams will travel using compass and map on bike, foot and canoes to control points (CP's) in the Lower Wekiva and Seminole Forest where for thousands of years Native Americans valued the abundance of wildlife in the area. This system of blackwater streams and wetlands provides habitat for black bears, river otters, alligators, wood storks, sandhill cranes. the ecological diversity includes almost all natrual occuring habitats found in Central Florida.
Fees: Range from $90 to $340 depending on team size and specific event

A "Get REAL in Florida State Parks!" Event

OUTDOOR MUSIC IN THE PARK SERIES
Date: Saturday, December 13th, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Description: What better way to enrich the human spirit then to blend music with nature. Bring your blanket, cooler, friends and family to the park for a live music concert. Folks will get to listen to the bluegrass/country sounds of The Holden Boys and the folk sounds of Emma Jean Branch. The concert will be held in front of the springs and the show starts at 6pm. Proceeds from this event go towards the Wekiva Wilderness Trust in efforts to promote education outreach at Wekiwa Springs State Park.
Fees: Tickets will go on sale Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at $5.00 per person, Children 12 and under are free. Since this is an after-hours event, your ticket price will include your evening entrance into the park.

RANGER INTERPRETIVE PROGRAM
Ongoing Rangers are periodically available to give informative programs. If you would like to request a program for your group or event, please contact the Ranger Station at 407-884-2008. Thirty days notice is required when requesting a program.

Every Saturday, 10:00 a.m. Join a Ranger for a Saturday morning interpretive program and learn about The Real Florida. Topics will vary weekly.

WET TO DRY TRAIL GUIDE TOUR
1st/3rd Sunday, 1:00 & 2:00 p.m. The Wet To Dry Trail is a quick 30 minute tour guide that begins on a low sloped trail. The short hike is a comfortable walk through shady vegetation known as Hydric Hammock. The guide will explain the different types of natural communities in the park and the variety of wildlife.
