Testimonials for Eden Gardens State Park
- I remember going on a field trip when I was in elementary school to Eden Gardens State Park. Even now twenty plus years later I remember the beauty and history of this wonderful place. I would dream of getting married in the Wesley House, and feeling like a queen in my Southern Castle. Eden touched my heart so many years ago and I am so glad I found your website, because the pictures brought back even more memories. I hope to bring my children to visit this magical place so that I may show them a little history into the Southern elegance that touch me so many years ago. Thanks for the memories!!!
Tammy Scott-Bates - Beverly, Ohio - We visited Eden this month, February 2007. The camelias were in full bloom. What beauties! I loved the sculptures of the ever young Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher, sculptures one found here and there throughout the park. A friendly black lab who had left his nearby home to visit the park appeared thrilled to romp with the arriving wedding guests, just as we finished our tour of the house. The tour guide had quite a sense of humor and my sister-in-law seemed to keep him going every chance she got. She offered him a dollar for the large hall tree. Needless to say, the hall tree still graces the Eden house. The name Eden really suites this lovely park with its flower gardens, flat green lawns, its reflection pool, full of koi and its deep, southern charm.
Wendy Wilson - Orange City, Florida -
We visited Eden December 15, 2007. The Garden is absolutely beautiful and well kept. The Gift shop volunteer was so very compassinate and informative.
The Tour Guide was professional yet explanied with a sense of humor.
We shall return when we have more time to stay and enjoy the entire park.
Gary and Patricia Smith - Fort Walton Beach, Fl - Eden Gardens is such a lovely place; a piece of true Southern charm, grace and hospitality preserved for us all to walk through and enjoy. It was the perfect place to have our wedding vows renewed for our 40th anniversary! We chose to have the ceremony under the Wedding Tree with the gracious home to our left and the view of the bay to our right. It truly was a trip back in time and was easy to imagine what weddings were like for the occupants of the home. The entire staff was so wonderful, knowledgable and helped us in so many ways to make the day perfect and then, of course, there was Eden! If you have not visited this landmark, you really must take an afternoon or morning to wander the paths of Southern history and enjoy the beautiful grounds of Eden.
